The Temple Owls ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since 1979

For the first time since 1979, the Temple Owls are ranked in The Associated Press Top 25. In the poll that was released Sunday afternoon, Temple is ranked 22nd, receiving 216 points. Temple, who is coming off a 30-16 win over Central Florida, is currently ranked ahead of programs such as Ole Miss, Pitt and Duke. Other American Athletic Conference members that are in the Top 25 include Memphis (18th) and Houston (21st). Earlier in the day, the team was selected 24th overall in the Amway Coaches Poll. With a 6-0 record, Temple is currently bowl eligible.
Temple will play Thursday night against East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina.
